Copper builds infrastructure for institutions that trade and hold digital assets. It launched in London in 2018 with custody technology based on multiparty computation, a way to manage asset signing without creating a complete private key in one place. Copper later introduced ClearLoop for off-exchange settlement. Its company page says ClearLoop connects custodians, prime brokers, trading firms and venues so collateral can be managed without moving every asset onto an exchange. Copper also offers custody, settlement and collateral management tools for banks, asset managers, exchanges and other market participants. The company describes the problem it addresses as fragmentation across trading venues and counterparties. Its site traces the development of Copper Network and partnerships that expanded its settlement workflows. The LinkedIn profile linked from Copper’s homepage lists London as headquarters and a workforce range of 201 to 500 employees.
